A case with many mental generals presents to you. Which Repertory would you choose? Obviously, Kent’s Repertory of the Homoeopathic Materia Medica is a better choice. But, what if it’s a case with pathological generals or an obscure one sided case with very few indications? Which Repertory is best suited here? If you have faced this dilemma before, this detailed course on the Comparative Study of Different Repertories will be a huge help. This course will deal with everything about the four core Repertories in Homeopathy, which are Kent’s Repertory of the Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Boenninghausen’s Therapeutic Pocket Book, Boger Boenninghausen’s Characteristics and Repertory and Boger’s Synoptic Key.
This course will cover every aspect of the four core Repertories. To have a better idea of each Repertory, the Course would begin with a study of the life history of the authors of each and every Repertory. Here, the history of that particular Repertory would also be covered. Following these, the Introduction part of each Repertory will be discussed in detail. This includes the discussion of the preface and other topics that the authors and editors of the various Repertories have covered in the introduction portion of their Repertories along with those in other related works. Next, the philosophy, plan and construction of each Repertory will be taken up for study. This will also entail a discussion of the gradation system adopted in the Repertory among other important topics. But, as an added bonus, the course also covers a brief overview of the chapters and rubrics of each Repertory. These modules will take the learner through some interesting rubrics that might confuse them in practice, besides discussing each and every chapter. Then, the course will talk about the concept of analysis and evaluation of symptoms, as propagated by the authors of the Repertories. The concept of each author will be taken up in a separate module and discussed in detail. For practice, the module will also feature a case, where the presenter will demonstrate how the case will be analysed and evaluated following the author’s concept. Next comes the working out of cases using each Repertory where, a module dedicated to each Repertory will have some cases. These cases will be worked out from the Presenting complaints to the Prescription part to familiarise the learner with the whole Repertorisation process, specific to the Repertory. Finally, the Course will also enlist the scope and limitations of each Repertory.
